The Vermont Professional Dog Trainer's Network prides itself on giving our community access to highly educated and effective trainers. We support the use of Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA)methods in animal training and behavior modification. We will never use force, fear or pain to train your pet.
We are happy to work with clients and dogs of all ages and sizes, even if you haven't used our methods of training in the past. Working with one of our trainers, you will quickly see how fast and easy our methods are for both you and your dog. More and more folks from all walks of life are crossing over to positive training methods, even those training working dogs:Gun Dogs, Search & Rescue, Explosive Detectionand Schutzhund (IPO). If LIMA training methods can get fantastic results for serious working dogs, imagine what they can do for you.
Certification from one of these recognized organizations is not a requirement. However, without certification a trainer must be referred by one of our existing members. All new member applicants will be vetted by our co-founders Emily Lewis, Jill Halstead, and Deb Helfrich to ensure that each trainer belonging to our network adheres to our recommended training practices.
